Owner appeals By Frances Gomez On Oct. 11, TABC reported that the permit for several area bars were under consideration to be revoked. Among these bars was Good Times Lounge. After a three-year investigation, TABC agents had evidence to take action against the establishments. The investigation encompassed San Antonio, Austin, the Permian Basin and El Paso. Undercover TABC agents purchased narcotics in these establishments and witnessed many violations by employees. Permits for Sandy Lounge in Fort Stockton, Cash’s Bar in Pecos and The Archway Bar & Grill in Monahans were revoked early in 2012. A recommendation was made by the State Office of Administrative Hearings to have Good Times Lounge permit revoked also. Nunley Warren, Good Times Lounge owner, hired attorneys to appeal this action. “The bar has never been closed down,” said Good Times Lounge manager, Debbie Rios, “the previous bartender was the one caught with narcotics.” Good Times recently renewed their permit for beer sales. Sandy Lounge belongs to Warren and according to Rios, Warren decided that he didn’t have enough help to run two bars. Sandy Lounge will not reopen said Rios.
