The free 32nd Annual Alpine Gem and Mineral Show returns April 14-16 at the Alpine Civic Center.

The show will run from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

The civic center is located at 801 W. Holland Ave. in Alpine.

Inside dealers and outside dealers will be covering a city block between Holland Avenue, Avenue E, intersecting with 12th Steet and 13th Street.

Fossils are featured this year. In keeping with this theme, the show will celebrate the Big Bend’s own prehistoric fossil raptor Quetzalcoatlus, a life-size replica of which is on exhibit at the Museum of the Big Bend on the Sul Ross State University Campus in Alpine.

Rough and finished stones, beads, jewelry, and tools, also demonstrations of a microscope for those interested in bringing a special fossil they may own, as well as the Kids spinning wheel to win a prize. Over 40 vendors from as far away as Arizona, New Mexico and Kentucky will converge for the exciting event.
