Fort Stockton Glitz deemed a success

Even though the weather didn’t cooperate much, the 2023 Glitz was a huge success. DJ Latin Stallion provided entertainment for the event, and Remie Ramos and Aspen Walsh were Masters of the Ceremony. Mr. Ramos is the Executive Director of the Fort Stockton Economic Development Corporation, and Ms. Walsh, currently the Miss Sandhills Rodeo Queen, was the first Comanche Springs Rodeo Queen. Despite the weather, the Pecos County Civic Center was near capacity.

Cops searching for missing person

On Nov. 8, 2023, Justin Joseph Urrutia went missing around mile marker 325 off I-10, close to the Sheffield area, after abandoning his vehicle in the pasture. He is a 41-year-old white male, 5-foot-10, 150 pounds, brown hair, and blue eyes, unknown type of clothing. He does have some medical issues and has deep dimples in both cheeks.

The Pecos County Sheriff's Office conducted an extensive search with the help of DPS and the use of all equipment that was made available.

Unfortunately, we were unable to locate him.

Jackson competes at state

Old Settlers Park in Round Rock was the site for the UIL State Cross Country meet Nov. 4. Alissandra Jackson, a senior from Fort Stockton High School, demonstrated her experience and never quit attitude in completing the tough two-mile race in 12:16.39 to claim 38th place out of 151 runners from across the state.
