Jan. 11, 1976 Issue: RECORD BROKEN - Dale Burger, senior captain of the Blue Wave Swim Team, finally surpasses his goal by breaking the 100 yard butterfly record held at Fort Stockton High School for seven years by Jody Ferrante. He set a new record time of 1:00.9 at the Andrews meet. This has been one of Dale’s goals since his freshman year.

Jan. 16, 1976 Issue: EXAMINING TROPHIES- Giving nods of approval to the beautiful trophies to be awarded this weekend are Pecos County Extension Agent Harvey Buehring (left) and Stock Show Association President Gerald Porter. Buehring is holding the all-around showmanship trophy, which will be presented at the conclusion of the show. The annual show begins Friday morning at 10 a.m. in the County Coliseum.

Jan. 4,1976 Issue: RECYCLED CHRISTMAS TREE ORNAMENTS- Mrs. Thomas Mooney’s Home Economics classes learned something about turning old things into new things by making recycled Christmas tree ornaments. Jan. 4, 1976 Issue: OFFICERS INSTALLED - Officers for 1976 of the Busy Bee 4-H Club were installed recently at a Christmas party held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Campbell. Pictured are (L-R) Walter Campbell, president: ViCindv Weatherman, vice-president: Terry Jones, secretary; Betty C. Brown, treasurer and Scott Mills, council delegate. Teresa Sherrill, not pictured, will serve as a council representative.

Jan. 11, 1976 Issue: BOWLING BELLES- Nothing succeeds like success. The R-P-M bowling team’s recent success in the Odessa Merchants’ Invitational earned Patt Satterfield, Fern Krantz, Rene Cave, Lillian Naquin, and Alice Vaden a team trophy and individual trophies to complement the $1000 awarded to the first-place winners.
