Fort Stockton High School’s cosmetology instructor Liliana Gonzales brought barbers from Fade City South in Odessa to demonstrate clipper cuts. The barbers provided free haircuts to the high school students while teaching the cosmetology class hands-on about different types of cuts, tools, and techniques for a perfect haircut. Cosmetology students were able to participate in a questions and answers session after each demonstration. Students learned which trade school is the best to attend for a cosmetology license. They also learned about the advantages and disadvantages of being your “own” boss and how much money a licensed barber can potentially make.
