Fort Stockton Public Library’s Summer Reading program kicks off with Bronson Chadwick, Artist of the Impossible, 6 p.m. at the library, 500 North Water Street. Signups for the Summer Reading Program are under way now.

JUNE 2

Alley Oop Festival begins at 5 p.m. at Alley Oop Park in Iraan.

JUNE 3

The Fort Stockton Film Society presents “The Searchers,” at 7 p.m. at the Nelson Street Theatre, 102 South Nelson. Admission is free.

JUNE 16

Live at Zero Stone with Wayne West. Presented by the Fort Stockton Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by Lancium. Free admission.

JUNE 19-30

Fort Stockton Community Theatre’s fourth annual Be Cool/Stay Cool Summer Theatre Camp for incoming first through sixth graders. The camp will be at The Nelson Street Theatre Monday through Friday from 1-3 p.m. each afternoon. The charge is $20 per child. There is a discount for multiple children in a family. There must be at least ten students registered for the camp by noon on Thursday, June 15, in order for the camp to be offered. Call Alice Duerksen, 3363180 for more information or to register.

JUNE 21-JULY 26

The Imperial Public Library will again present a Summer Reading Program. All age groups are encouraged to read and enjoy the many benefits of the library over the summer. The theme for this year is, “All Together Now.” The program is every Wednesday from 10 a.m.Noon starting June 21 and ending July 26. For More info call (432) 536-2236.

JULY 17-20

The Sul Ross State women’s basketball coaching staff will be playing host to a series of basketball camps at the Pete P. Gallego Center this summer. A day camp for ages 7-17 takes place July 17-20. The camp will run from 8:30 a.m.-Noon each day. Snacks and bottled water will be provided daily. Contact Head coach E.J. JULY 22-23

An Elite basketball camp for players in grades 9-12 will take place July 22-23 at Sul Ross State University in Alpine. Day one will run from 2-6 p.m. while Day two will be from 8:30 a.m.-Noon. Head women’s basketball coach E.J. Lee Smith and staff will be running the camp. Smith enters her second season at Sul Ross State. Contact Head coach E.J.
