KELLI HARRAL OF FORT STOCKTON WINS MISS TEXAS TEEN USA(r) PAGEANT!
The 2009 MISS TEXAS TEEN USA(r) pageant was held on Sunday afternoon, November 30, at the Hilton Houston Post Oak Hotel. One hundred twenty-nine contestants from across Texas competed for a prize package that includes a four year college scholarship, jewelry, travel, wardrobe, and the honor of representing Texas next year in the premier national pageant for teenagers, MISS TEEN USA(r).
The newly crowned Miss Texas Teen USA is sixteen year-old, Kelli Harral, who represented Fort Stockton. A sophomore at Fort Stockton High School, Kelli is Captain of the Junior Varsity Cheerleading Squad and as well as being an honor student. She is the owner and operator of Kelli's Dance Studio, LLC; a mentor at Apache Elementary; a member of the Fort Stockton Chamber of Commerce; and a Tiny Tot Pageant Director for the last three years.
First runner-up is Miss Waco Teen USA, Erika Hammond; second runner-up is Miss North Dallas Teen USA, Felicia Bolton, who was also voted Best in Swimsuit and Miss Congeniality; third runner-up is Miss Rio Grande Valley Teen USA, Laura Gonzalez; and fourth runner-up is Miss Bay Area Teen USA, Megan Scamardo.
Semifinalists are Miss Austin Teen USA, Elizabeth Connor; Miss Central Texas Teen USA, Joy Cole; Miss Corpus Christi Teen USA, Christina Pujol; Miss Dallas Teen USA, Sara Herbel; Miss Dallas County Teen USA, Danielle Foster; Miss Grogan's Point Teen USA, Andrea Piecuch; Miss Heart of Texas Teen USA, Alexandra Nini; Miss Houston Teen USA, Hannah Kirkland; Miss Missouri City Teen USA, Christine Nwabeke, who also won the award for Congeniality; and Miss Tomball Teen USA, Caitlyn Rasmussen, who also won the award for Most Photogenic._The 4th annual People's Choice Award was won by Miss Liberty County Teen USA, Cynthia Hornberger. Voters for the People's Choice donated one dollar for each vote cast, all to go to the Military Moms and Wives of Brazoria County, a volunteer organization that supports troops deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan. A record breaking $15,000.00 was raised, which will be used to send care packages to our American heroes.
Albert Soliz and Miss Texas USA 2009, Brooke Daniels, hosted the show. Miss Texas Teen USA 2008, Lauren Guzman was a special guest.
