Clint sweeps Prowlers in District 4-3A match

The Clint Lady Lions defeated the Fort Stockton Prowlers 25-16, 25-15, 25-19 Saturday in District 4-3A volleyball.

The Fort Stockton junior varsity won, beating Clint 25-12, 25-19.
Clint won the freshman match 25-16, 25-16.

Tuesday night in San Angelo, the Lake View Maidens defeated the Prowlers 26-24, 20-25, 14-25, 25-18, 15-9. The Prowlers junior varsity and freshman squads also dropped their matches.

In eighth-grade volleyball, Fort Stockton Blue defeated Alpine 25-22, 25-23. Dinessah Fuentez led the Prowlers with three kills and seven service points.

Teammates Mia Duarte, Lorina Warnock and Callie Hatcher each had three kills. Katie Rubio recorded 10 service points for the Prowlers.

"(We) did an outstanding job working together and hustling," Fort Stockton coach Ella Bueno Gonzales said. "(We) played with heart and determination."

Fort Stockton will travel to Pecos Monday for its final match of the season.
