Warrant issued for former ag teacher

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a former Fort Stockton Independent School District ag teacher, according to Fort Stockton Police Department chief Juan Castro Tuesday evening.

Jamie Steen, 25, is charged with one count of the sale, distribution and display of harmful material (pornography) to a minor. Castro said that Steen had apparently left Fort Stockton and was believed to be in the San Angelo area, and that authorities in that area have been notified.
Steen, who was a first-year teacher in the district, abruptly resigned Oct. 15 following allegations that she provided alcohol to students on unauthorized field trips.

The resignation closed the investigation by the school district into the matter, FSISD superintendent Ron Mayfield said, and it was referred to FSPD for possible charges.
