PCMH Board of Managers meeting
Pecos County Memorial Hospital Board of Managers met on February 5 to renew contracts and arrange training schedules, as well as hear from Dr. Mallik about his proposed leave.
Russell Tippin, Hospital administrator, told the board, "I have asked Dr. Mallik to come and lay all the rumors to rest."
Dr. Subodh Mallik informed the board that he plans to take a sabbatical to return to his home in Nepal, a small country between India and China. His aging parents and grandparents require care, and he feels great responsibility to his family. Mallik said he and his family would not be leaving until the school year had finished. He vowed not to leave until he had found a suitable replacement to take care of his patients until he returns. Board member Mike Ureta thanked Mallik for coming and said, "We understand your responsibility to your family."
The board approved out of state travel to Mobile, Alabama regarding the Point of Care Training for Mary O'Rouorke, Monica Sherwood and Misty Frank. "We sent the first group, and now we must send the second," said Mike Horton, Director of Nursing.
A motion was made by Mike Ureta to approve the changes to the PT Wellness Center Plans as presented by Russell Tippin, CEO and Jeremy Calzada. Changes included lowering the number of exercise pools from three to two, adding office space to be built beside the building and changing the number of lanes on the track from five to three.
Flora Bolin, CRNA was appointed to Allied Health Professional Status.
Reappointments included Jason Grennan, M.D. to the Consulting Staff (Nighthawk Radiology), Guy Ross, M.D. to the Consulting Staff (Nighthawk Radiology) and Fernando Boccalandro, M.D. to Courtesy Staff (Specialty Clinic).
Mike Ureta was appointed to the Focus Group to recruit a dentist and give Russell Tippin, CEO the authority to appoint other members to include, County & City officials, local dentist, employees of PCMH, and any one else he sees fit to the group.
A motion was made by Laura McKenzie to continue negotiations for sponsorship of Kristi Harral Urias regarding the Texas Outstanding Rural Scholar Recognition Program. The motion passed unanimously.
