Yarbrough-Callahan Wedding

Lyndsey Yarbrough and Bryan Callahan were married Saturday, July 28, 2007, at the beautiful White's Chapel United Methodist Church in Southlake.

Rev. Todd Renner performed the double ring ceremony. Parents of the newlyweds are Dr. and Mrs. Delton Yarbrough II, Fort Stockton, and Mr. and Mrs. Russell Callahan, Southlake.
The church's center pews are decorated with ivory tulle bows adorned with ivory roses and gold ribbon. Two large floral centerpieces of roses, lilies and various other flowers in the bride's chosen palette of cream, pink, mauve and latte accented the altar of the church. The kneeling bench surrounding the altar was adorned with more than 150 ivory votive candles casting a warm glow on the ceremony.

Before the formal ceremony began, a photomontage tribute to the couple was viewed on two large screens at the front of the church. It was not only a touching look back at their separate childhoods, but a history of their relationship and special times together.

At 7 p.m., the organist tolled the seventh hour and the wedding ceremony formally began. The family was ushered in by "How Beautiful" played by pianist Patrice Koenig. It is the theme song for one of the couple's favorite movie miniseries "Lonesome Dove." Vocal soloist Micah Blalock performed "Bless the Broken Road" after the reverend's greeting and invocation, and a duet with Taylor Barnes of "The Prayer" during the lighting of the unity candle. Blake Yarbrough, brother of the bride, recited the "Apache Marriage Blessing."

The bridal attendants and groomsmen entered together to the processional music of "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring." The maid of honor was the bride's best friend, Katie Upham, Flower Mound. Bridesmaids were Catherine Yarbrough, Houston and Amanda Yarbrough, Austin, both sisters-in-law of the bride and Kara Combest, Waco, cousin of the bride. Best man was the groom's childhood friend, Josh Hentz, Bedford. Groomsmen included Eric Callaghan, Lubbock, brother of the groom and college friends, Nicholas Scannell, Arlington and Mike Keffer, Euless. Ushers included Chris Northup, Fort Worth, Jesse Lewis, North Richland Hills and Scott Horowitz, Lubbock.

The bride was ushered in by her father Del Yarbrough to "Canon in D." She wore an ivory strapless gown of satin that cascaded into a cathedral length train. The gown had a dropped waistline in front with an appliqué of crystal beads and pearls forming a lovely design on the bodice and waistline. Lyndsey wore a matching tiara in her hair with long curls, overlaid with waist and cathedral length veils borrowed from her sister-in-law, Catherine Yarbrough. She wore a pearl necklace of her mother's and drop pearl and diamond earrings that were a gift from her parents. She carried a bouquet of cream, mauve and red roses accented with stephanotis and cocoa berries that were tied with ivory satin ribbon.

The bridal attendants dressed in latte-colored sleeveless satin v-neck dresses with slim full-length skirts. They carried bouquets of cream, mauve and red roses accented with cocoa berries and ties with ivory satin ribbon. Groomsmen dressed in black tuxedos and white shirts with latte-colored vests and ties. The groom sported a black tuxedo with white shirt and black tie and vest.

Following the ceremony, a dinner and dance were held at Sky Creek Ranch Country Club. The club sits atop the highest point in Tarrant County, so the spectacular view from the wall of windows overlooking the golf course was enjoyed by all as the sun set. The menu included a combination dinner of rib eye steak with an herbed red wine demi-glace, pistachio crusted chicken with mango and jalapeno relish, mixed greens salad, Savoyard potatoes and sautéed asparagus. Each dinner table displayed floral centerpieces of white hydrangeas, pink roses and stargazer lilies accented with bows of ivory tulle and gold ribbon, encircled with latte-colored natural potpourri. Ivory candles in differing sizes, each uniquely decorated and personalized in honor of the bride and groom, graced each table and gave a nice glow to the room. White napkins were held with shimmering gold lace rings, pink rose petals and pink foil chocolate hearts were scattered over the table, as well as gold wedding cameras included for guest use. Baskets held guest favors of water bottles decorated with personalized labels and miniature bubbles. Guests were entertained and danced the night away to music provided by D.J. James, Melodies Memories DJs.

The wedding cake provided dessert, which was a four-tiered square Italian cream cake with cream cheese filling and white butter cream frosting, adorned with Robin's scroll and the newlywed's monogram on the front. The top was decorated with cream, red and pink roses with rose petals cascading down one side of the lovely cake.

The wedding weekend festivities began with rehearsal on Friday afternoon at White's Chapel United Methodist Church, followed by a rehearsal dinner at La Hacienda Ranch, hosted by the groom's parents. Afterwards, a lingerie shower for the bride was held in the Callahan's home. A bridesmaid's breakfast was hosted the day of the wedding La Madeline's French Bakery and Restaurant in Grapevine by Catherine Yarbrough and Sharon Wilson. The groom's family hosted a noon barbeque for family and friends at their lovely home Sunday afternoon following the wedding.

Following a weeklong honeymoon to the Caribbean island, St. Lucia, the couple will reside in Dallas, where the bride is in the management leadership team of Consolidated Graphics and the groom is employed with U-Line.
