Urias-Harral united
in marriage
Kristi & Nathan Urias were united in marriage on Saturday, May 26th, at the First United Methodist Church. Reverend Joel Barrett performed the double ring ceremony. Parents of the newlyweds are D. A. & Angela Harral and Mario & Arcelia Urias, all of Fort Stockton.
White bouffant draping, topped by white, ivory, and pale pink roses with bright greenery, marked the center pews of the beautiful sanctuary, and a snow white aisle runner adorned the center aisle. Side aisle stained glass windows displayed ivory & pale pink roses with greenery. Two golden candelabras were lit by the bride's brother Jake Harral. Miss Audrie Childs, Miss Jessica Fierro, Miss Brianna Sloan and Miss Meghan Teich-Hammond greeted guests with a program.
Contemporary love songs, played as guests were seated. "Spring", by Vivaldi, ushered in grandparents, David and Priscilla Schaefer of Lake Buchanan, and Alpheus and Peggy Harral of Fort Stockton. Miss Kasia Havins magnificently sang "From This Moment", by Shania Twain, accompanied by talented Mr. Brian Fierro on the piano. Mr. Steven Gennette & the church choir performed "For the Beauty of the Earth" and "The Gift of Love", piano accompaniment by Ms. Rene Franklin. Miss Crystal Acosta and Miss Cassie Roberts recited 1st Corinthians 13 & Genesis 2: 18-24, scriptures chosen by the couple. The bride entered to "Bridal March", by Wagner.
Kristi's father, D. A. Harral, presented her at the marriage altar. The radiant bride wore an ivory strapless, sequined and pearl beaded gown designed by La Sposa of Spain. Her A-line corset backed gown was dotted by miniature pearls dipping into a free flowing cathedral length train. The shimmering waist and cathedral length veils were accented by pearls. The bride wore strappy ivory chiffon four inch heels scattered with pearls. She carried a bouquet of ivory pink tipped roses accented by diamond crystals tied with ivory satin ribbon.
Following wedding tradition the bride "borrowed" an "old" pearl necklace and three tiered pearl earrings worn by her aunt, Mrs. Diane Arredondo, when she married in 1995. A blue garter and her gown accounted for something "new" and "blue".
Maids of honor included the bride's sisters, Miss Kati Harral and Miss Kelli Harral, of Fort Stockton. Bridesmaids were cherished friends, Miss Jessica McGuire of Lubbock, Miss Carissa Zamora of Midland, Miss Crystal Acosta of San Angelo, Miss Kasia Havins of Lubbock, Miss Leigh Hampton of Lubbock, Miss Shelby New of Austin, Miss Cassie Roberts of Austin and Miss Jamie St. Clair of San Angelo.
The bridal attendants dressed in identical strapless two-tiered tea length gowns of raspberry chiffon and silk. Gracing their waists a raspberry satin cummerbund with sashes tied behind and flowed downward to the hemline. They carried bouquets of ivory roses with a raspberry star gazing lily tied by long silver and white ribbons.
The precious flower girls, Miss Lariat Urias of Midland and Miss MacKenzie Urias of Midland, cousins of the groom, wore ivory sleeveless floor length two-tiered gowns of satin and chiffon accented with pearl beading at the waist. Raspberry colored rose petals sprayed with the bride's perfume, "Romance", were sprinkled as they proceeded up the aisle.
Mr. Joe Martinez of Fort Stockton, cousin of the groom, served as a regal ring bearer carrying a white pillow with two dazzling rings. Mr. Kenny Urias, brother of the groom, of Midland, served as honored best man. Groomsmen included Mr. Desi Urias, brother of the groom, of Fort Stockton, brothers-in-law, Mr. Mark Harral of Austin and Mr. Jake Harral of Fort Stockton, and, Mr. Tyler Elliott of Fort Stockton, Mr. Matt Garvin of Stephenville, Mr. Justin Harvey of Dallas, Mr. Matthew Martinez of Midland, Mr. Levi Urias of Fort Stockton, and Mr. Milby Winn of Greenwood. Ushers included Mr. William Graue, of Lincoln, Nebraska, Mr. Steven Franco of Odessa, Mr. Wayne Jefferson of Midland, Mr. Ricky Suarez of Georgetown and Mr. Alfredo Muniz of Midland.
The groom, groomsmen and ring-bearer all sported black single breasted tuxedos, by Seven, with white shirts, black vests and black ties, excepting the groom who chose an ivory tie.
For her daughter's wedding Mrs. D. A. Harral selected a champagne evening gown accented with a crystal brooch. The groom's mother Mrs. Mario Urias chose a dusty rose evening gown with matching satin jacket. Both mothers carried an ivory and pale pink rose nosegay.
Before proclaiming "you may kiss the bride", Rev. Barrett leaned forward and gave the bride a congratulatory kiss on the cheek, much to the delight of guests and surprise of both the bride and groom.
Following the ceremony a reception was held at the civic center. A delicious meal catered by the Urias family was served. The bride and groom were seated beneath an ornamented gazebo. Each white table displayed cascading roses with "I Met My Match" matchbooks, miniature bubbles, raspberry rice bags and wedding cameras for guest use. A black wrought iron chandelier with sparkling lights graced the dance floor.
The bride's table displayed matching two-tier white and raspberry iced cakes topped with ivory roses and silver entwined hearts. Wedding cookies and strawberry iced punch were served. The groom's table served a three-tier square chocolate cake adorned with tuxedo strawberries, two chocolate horse shoe "good luck" cakes and wedding cookies.
Wedding guests danced the night away to 80's music by The Crush, from Austin, featuring Fort Stockton's own talented Bristi Havins. Ben Casas, Fort Stockton's favorite D. J., provided County Western and Tejano music and played the newlyweds first dance "Bendito La Luz", by Mana.
The previous weekend the groom's brothers hosted a bachelor party at Lake Amistead. On Friday, the bride's parents hosted a rehearsal lunch at the First United Methodist Church, catered by the Pasquas. A bridesmaid's luncheon was held the day of the wedding at K-Bob's hosted by the bride's grandmother's Mrs. Priscilla Schaefer and Mrs. Peggy Harral, and aunts Mrs. Diane Arredondo, Mrs. Iva Aline Collins, Miss Jo Aline Collins, Mrs. Carol Harral Hardwick, Mrs. Billie Sue Schaefer, and Miss Lynn Schaefer. The tables were decorated by Mrs. Peggy Harral with hand painted pine cones, ribbons and alstroemeria flowers. A bridesmaid's charm cake provided entertainment for all guests.
