Bradshaw Earns
All-State Honors
Fort Stockton outfielder Billy Bradshaw was one of four Permian Basin baseball players has been named to the Texas Sports Writers Associations All-State Baseball Teams. Bradshaw was named to the Class 3-A third team.
Billy has accomplished many things through his love for baseball. As a younger player, he participated in Fort Stockton's local youth baseball programs and was selected for the All-Star teams. During 2002 and 2003, he played on a traveling baseball team that qualified for the American Amateur Youth Baseball Alliance World Series in St. Louis, Mo. both years. Billy tried out for the Coast to Coast Baseball Team in 2004 and was one of 32 boys chose to play for the United States of America. The teams traveled to San Juan, Puerto Rico, where they finished in first place.
He has attended many baseball camps, including an invitation to a college/pre-camp in Florida through Coast to Coast Baseball. Billy has started left field for the Fort Stockton Varsity Baseball Team throughout his high school career. He received 2nd team All-District honors in his freshman and junior years. As a senior, he was team captain and received District Offensive M.V.P. and was named to the All West Texas Baseball Team.
"Throughout my years, I have had several great coaches that I would like to thank. My dad, Cecil Bradshaw, Fred Rangel, Ruben Bernal, John Salcido, Richard Rojas, Wayne Braziel, B. J. Carlton and Jeremy Hickman," Billy writes. "Each of you have taught me something that I will take with me as I further my baseball career."
