Pecos Trail Region Hosts Texas Friendly Hospitality Workshop
The Texas Pecos Trail is offering their first "Texas Friendly" Workshop, designed to train retail, tourism destination and service industry employees and managers how to better offer that "Texas" type of friendly service to their customers. The workshop is being held in Iraan on Monday, June 11, and is being co-sponsored by the Iraan-Sheffield Chamber of Commerce.
"Happy customers mean a profitable business for you and more jobs and retail sales for your community" said Keith Godwin, the TPTR Coordinator, and one of the workshop facilitators. Her partner for the day - Paula Walker, Director of Monahans Main Street, is a Texas Friendly instructor certified through the program created by Texas Cooperative Extension TAMU- RPTS. Components of the seminar will include: Today's Business Etiquette, Image and Professionalism, Handling Problems and Knowing your Community. Training is for internal and external customer service.
Beginning at 8 a.m., the workshop will be held at the Iraan High School -Tech Center complete with a Customer Service "tool kit", coffee break and refreshments, and a "certificate" of completion provided. Registration is only $15, however seating is limited and reservations must be made by June 1. Volunteers that work for Non-profit museums may attend for free - please call for placement in advance.
