Genesis Venegas becomes bride of Hector Salmon, Jr.

In a beautiful garden setting Genesis Venegas, daughter of Fermin and Anabel Venegas was joined in holy matrimony to Hector Salmon, Jr., son of Hector Salmon and Vera Ontiveros, July 8.

The double ring ceremony was performed by Orlando Venegas, the bride's Uncle from Rocksprings Church in Rocksprings.
The bride was presented in marriage by her father Fermin Venegas and grandfather Belio Villarreal before two hundred and fifty guests,

She wore a beautiful white strapless gown by Vera Wang. The pleated bodice was made of raw silk and the fully gathered skirt was fine tulle. The removable cathedral train was also made of fine tulle and attached at the waist. Her multi-layered veil was waist length adorned with Austrian crystals and topped with a jeweled tiara which was designed and made by Hector Suarez.

The bride wore teardrop earrings and matching necklace that belonged to her grandmother Maria Villarreal. She carried a beautiful hand wrapped bouquet made of calla lilies tied with organza ribbon and secured with pearls.

Her bridesmaids were Melinda Ortiz, Rocksprings and Jaqueline Rodriguez, Ozona. They wore tea length spaghetti strap dresses in a beautiful Tiffany color and matching shawl and silver jeweled sandals.

The bride's hair was beautifully coiffed by Armando Portillo, as was the bridesmaids.

The groom chose as his best man and groomsman, David Villesca and Armando Portillo, Fort Stockton. Staying in tune with the garden setting they wore Mexican wedding shirts and beige linen slacks.

The mother of the bride was escorted by her brother Mayor Tony Villarreal. She wore a Tiffany blue floor length chiffon gown with beaded bodice and matching shawl.

The groom's mother wore a red floor length gown and matching jewelry.

The flower girls were, Andrea Aguirre, niece of the bride, Alyssa Hickman, Katie Salmon, and Janessa Granado all nieces of the groom. The ring bearer was Elizabeth Hickman, niece of the groom. They all wore white organza gowns with matching flowers in their hair.

The garden gazebo was made of draped material and clear lights with beautiful arrangements of white roses, calla lilies and mini carnations.

Following the ceremony the bride and groom lit a remembrance candle in memory of the late Maria Villarreal, grandmother of the bride.

Her grandfather presented the bride with her grandmother's wedding ring.

Guests were seated at round tables with tall topiary arrangements of white roses, calla lilies, alstrmeria and mini carnations.

The whole garden was lit up with thousands of clear lights. The pool area was also decorated with lights, floating candles and a fountain at one end. Fresh flowers were placed all around the garden.

A full course meal was served to the guests along with a four tiered cake decorated with calla lilies and Tiffany blue stain ribbon, topped with a jeweled "S" initial. A German chocolate grooms cake was also served.

Out of town guests were Tomas Perez and Beatriz Maldonado, Sacramento, California; Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Villarreal, Meridian; Belio Villarreal, Rocksprings; Mr. and Mrs. Rolando Villarreal and Mr. and Mrs. Amaro Villarreal all of Kerville; Gabrial Villarreal, San Antonio and Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Salmon, El Paso.

Fire works were displayed in front of the house at the close of the event.

A surprise gift of a limo was given to the bride and groom by the bride's Uncle Tony Villarreal.
