Approaching marriage announced

Tessa Maraid Murphy, daughter of Catherine Murphy and the late Dennis Wayne Murphy and Kyle Alexander Hampton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Steve W. Hampton, Jr., will be united in marriage August 26 in the Oakland, Calif. Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

The bride to be is a 2000 graduate of Golden Valley High School in Merced, Calif. and completed an associates' degree in 2002 from Shasta College, in Redding Calif. She served as a missionary in the Texas-Houston Spanish Speaking Mission for the LDS Church from August 2004 to March 2006.
The prospective groom is a 1998 graduate of Fort Stockton High School. He served as a missionary for the LDS Church in Santiago, Chile from October 1999 to September 2001. He is a 2004 graduate of Brigham Young University with a bachelor of science degree in Urban Planning. He is a second year law student at University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, Calif. He is employed this summer as a law clerk for the California Commission on State Mandates.

A reception to honor the couple is planned in Merced, Calif. August 26 and in Lubbock September 2.
